JOB TITLE: SMT Machine Operator (Contract to Direct)


DEPARTMENT:R&D EXEMPT (Y/N):

EMPLOYEE NAME: SHIFT: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

SUPERVISOR: LOCATION: Mundelein, IL



SUMMARY: Will set-up and operate SMT Machines for PCB production. Will load I.C.'s onto reels and perform changeovers for low volume/high mix electronic manufacturing environment.


We have SMT Oper. positions available in Buffalo Grove, Itasca, LaGrange, and Elk Grove Village.

1st shift hours are 6:00am to 2:15pm Monday thru Friday
2nd shift hours are 2:00pm to 10:15pm Monday thru Friday
3rd shift hours are 10:00pm to 6:15am Monday thru Friday.

We would also train machine operators that have previous experience running Wave Solder machines, Die Bond Machines, ERSA machines, or Auto-insertion/Automatic Assembly Machines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Operate SMT machines that place chips onto printed circuit boards.

Loading of reels

Perform changeovers

Education and/or Experience:

· High School diploma or equivalent



Technical Skills:



SMT chip placement, printer/screener, Btu refow oven experience needed.


Language Skills:

Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufactring instructions.


Mathematical Skills:

Basic math skills needed.


Other Skills and Abilities (Desirable):

Familiarity with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Guidances as applicable to medical device manufacturing. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and applicable ISO standards.
